When should I book my session?   Every session is different, but we do book up quickly.   Booking at least a month out (if you want a fall session, closer to two) is recommended. Seniors who need photos by September/October should plan on booking their session in July or August. Maternity photos are best done early in the third trimester and newborn photos are best done in the first 14 days.

How long does it take to get photos back? Our turn around time is 2-3 weeks for your online gallery.

What is the difference between a lifestyle newborn session and a studio newborn session?
A “ studio newborn session” is a session that requires the baby to be sleeping and mostly naked for the majority of it. A lot of time is taken to perfectly pose baby on back drops with various props etc. These sessions can take upwards of 3 hours with 75% or more of the time spent soothing/calming baby to get him/her into that perfect peaceful slumber J These sessions work best when baby is brand new.
A “lifestyle newborn session” is a session that aims at capturing parents, siblings, and baby together as a unit. I come to your home and photograph you in your environment. (often master bedroom and or nursery) Baby doesn’t have to be sleeping and can be any age. These sessions still produce beautiful portraits of baby, but capturing the family unit is also an important goal!

Do I get the files?
I believe with all my heart that photos should be printed and shown off. The bigger the better 🙂 You don’t invest in a photographer to have a folder of jpg files sit on your computer or have a pretty little usb drive sit in a drawer, right?   Our goal is that you will come out of your session with something more tangible than that. That said, some sessions do come with a limited number of files while some come with product credit that you can use to either purchase files or any number of the various print products we offer.

How do I book my session?
Once you decide you want to move forward with us, we will send you a contract to reserve your date and time. Along with the contract, a 50% non-refundable retainer is also due.

What should we wear?
It is best to keep clothing simple, avoiding logos or busy patterns. Layers and textures always photograph well. In group photos, try to avoid the matchy-matchy look and instead coordinate colors. Wear clothes that represent you and who you are.
